Weather on Apple Watch not accurate

When using Weather complication on Apple Watch face, the weather information for current location is incorrect:

Watch is set to get the weather info from iPhone

iPhone is setup for the following cities in this order:

- Current Location

- San Francisco

- Phoenix

- Los Angeles

When in Phoenix, I noticed that weather on the watch was displaying as 69 degrees (when it was 102 in actuality). Checking the watch app, I confirmed that it was setup as "Current Location".

Checking the weather for San Francisco on the phone, displayed that it was actually 69 degrees in SF. Seems like the watch, even though setup for using the current location, is using the first actual manually entered location (in this case, SF rather than current location which is Phoenix.)

Switching the weather for Watch app on iPhone from Current location to Phoenix, displays the correct weather. Seems like "Current Location" is being ignored and next location is being displayed.

Make sure that the location services for Weather are set for Always on the phone. I had an issue with mine once, and when I checked Weather on the phone, I found that it had moved from Current Location setting as well. Toggling it off/on should fix it. Mine works fine now. You can also open Weather on the watch and make sure you see the location arrow at the base of the selections to see what the watch is seeing as far as locations.

Hi

It may help to check these settings:

On your iPhone, go to: Settings > Privacy > Location Services:

  • Check that Location Services is enabled.
  • Check that Apple Watch Faces is set to While Using.
  • Check that Weather is set to Always.

On your iPhone, go to: Settings > General > Background App Refresh:

  • Check that Background App Refresh is enabled.
  • It may also help to enable the setting for Weather.

For the best performance from your watch, also keep both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi permanently enabled on your iPhone.
