Q: Can I change the date of a photo?

To resolve another issue, I've had to move my photos to an external drive and then upload them again via iCloud.

In doing this, a bunch of photos got assigned today's date and time.

Is it possible for me to somehow change the date back to when the photo was taken / received? Even if I need to do it manually for each one.

It affects the chronological order of the photos.

Thanks in advance for any help and suggestions.

If you mean change the date of the file the only way to do it is to set your computer time to the date you want and save the file again. However, the date taken should still be stored inside the image EXIF data. If you are using iCloud Photos you can move the photos around; they don't have to be in chronological order.

Are you using a PC or a Mac? If a PC try the steps in this User Tip. You would have to use iTunes on a PC to sync the photos to your phone but this process should let you reorder the photos in a synced album anyway you desire.
