Can I change the date of a photo?

To resolve another issue, I've had to move my photos to an external drive and then upload them again via iCloud.

In doing this, a bunch of photos got assigned today's date and time.

Is it possible for me to somehow change the date back to when the photo was taken / received? Even if I need to do it manually for each one.

It affects the chronological order of the photos.

Thanks in advance for any help and suggestions.

Regarding Date and/or Time issues

My experiences are:

Device: Date/Time

MAC Correct always

iCloud iPad Iphone

Correct on photos I take in West Coast Time zone.

Incorrect on photos I take in other time zones,

e.g.. Photos taken in New York show the time of Cupertino even though I set my iPhone to New York

Thus photos taken at noon for example in New York display as taken at 9AM . (-3 hours)

Photos taken in London show the time of Cupertino even though I set my iPhone to London.

Thus photos taken at noon in London show as taken at 4AM (-8 hours)

This only becomes a date problem when the time shift wraps around midnight.

A photo taken at 6AM in London on the 2nd of the month, would be logged by Apple as having

been taken at -8 hours, or at 10PM on the 1st of the month.

Note: Using the Metaviewer app (by Platinum City) on my iphone or iPad the EXIF data shows the correct DateTime Original and Digitized. There appears to be no way to view any of the meta data iCloud Photos or any Original date time meta data in the Photos app. iPhone and iCloud just display incorrect times for an apparent programming problem within the Apple iCloud software. I have noticed that some people have complained about a similar issue with Google Photos.

If you happen to be using the Esplorio app to track your travels, that app DOES recognize and track the correct dates and times. Apple just appears to be having a problem with displaying correct time for photos in iCloud and in the Photos app on the iPhone and iPad.
