Q: cannot re-download Yosemite
Machine in trouble is a MacBook Pro, circa 2013 (I'm getting more info on that), running the latest version of Yosemite.
Tying to help) find and fix whatever's broken. Started out after the last OS update. Took forever to boot, then stopped booting altogether. Then it would get just so far, stop and reboot before getting to the desktop.
Used the Recovery Disk to unlock the volume and attempt to restore from the OS on her disk. Starts to work, the stops and won't go any further. Attempting to restart now results in a flash of error codes, then the restart cycle. The first line of code is:
1 exited (signal 0, exit 1)panic(cpu 1 caller 0xffffff80059c121e): “launched died/nState at last Exception:\n\n”@/SourceCache/xnu/xnu-2782.50.2/bsd/kern/ke …
buggercalled: <panic>
The first and last couple of characters were truncated in the photo, but hopefully this will give you an idea of the error.
The drive will target mount to an iMac, also running the same version of Yosemite. The contents appear to all be there, but there's obviously a problem with the System, which can't be fixed on discerned from the iMac.
Unable to download Yosemite from the Purchased folder. The button is dimmed and says Downloaded. None of the other OS download buttons show that. In fact, when I checked my own purchases on my own machines, they all show Downloaded for Yosemite as well.
Any ideas?
iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014), OS X Yosemite (10.10.4)
