iPod
Q: Why does my iPod touch only show as an internal storage device in my computer and explorer and not as a drive? Uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes many times and still it persists. I can only look at photos not music
I can't get my iPod Touch to show up as a drive. It only shows as an internal storage device and I can only see photos under a DCIM folder. No drive letter either
iPod touch, Windows 10

iTunes
The iPod touch has a closed file system. If it has a non-empty camera roll then the contents of that emulate a camera. Other iPod models may optionally appear as a regular drive so that you can add or remove files using Windows Explorer. Media files need to be added and removed by iTunes (or an application that replicates iTunes' actions) or the device won't know they are there.
