lost or stolen IPAD I bought today

hello all n thank you for your time. bought an IPad from a flea-market set up my iTunes act. to link iPad to it told me to do a restore. after that i tried to set it up now saying it was linked to find my phone. so my ? is this how do i find owner? to check and see if it was lost or stolen. Or I hope he or she forgot to eraser their info. lol so much for a great Buy. Not how I wanted to have my first experience with my first Apple product to go .. thanks again 😮

It requires the Apple ID and password of the previous owner. If you don't have it and cannot get it, then the device is useless to you. Return it for a refund, if you can, or take it to an Apple store for an exchange provided they will help you.

Right i get that part. But still hate to see sum-one lose an IPad; would rather if it was lost or stolen return it to the rightful owner. lol was just how I was brought up.......

You will not be able to use this iPad without knowing that Apple ID and password.

You will not be able to locate the original owner either, unless the seller at the flea market can help you.

Return it to the local authorities, or turn it in for electronics recycling.
