Q: Cellular data GPS wrong location

Hello everyone,

 

my problem started directly after i cracked my display of Iphone 6 which is when i'm connected to WIFI my location results correct and works fine, But when i use cellular data 3G Or 4G maps gives me a wrong location with 3-4 KM far away from my right location and when i start the game that required my location Like (POKEMON GO) the game says that there is NO GPS SIGNAL but with WIFI connection, there is a signal with right location and everything works fine i tried to settings > Reset > Reset location & Privacy and i tried alos to Update and restore my device but to no avail knowing that after i cracked my display and replace it with an onther one my WIFI signal becames very weack wich means that i should be nearby wireless to connect, i dont know where my problem came from maybe because i smashed my display, i hope you understanding me and i hope to find a good solution.

The same things happens to me and only happens when i go by a certain location while Pokemon go app is open. I even got a brand new iPhone over the weekend but it still happened this morning. After I get to work and close Pokemon go app and then check google maps a few hours later, it always shows me to the same incorrect location about a 1/4 mile away. I think there's possibly a cell tower there and maybe that's why it takes me there? Either way the problem is related to Pokemon go and it somehow effects GPS because google maps and apple maps both see me in the wrong place.

 

The solution is to reset network settings

settings > general > reset> network settings.

 

I've had to reset it every morning for past two weeks. It's works fine until next day unless I play at lunch and then need to reset again. No issues when I play at home or on the weekends. Odd bug I guess

    In case Apple replaced the screen, bring it back to them, repairs done by Apple are covered by a short warranty period.

    If you or an unauthorized repair shop did that, Apple will not service the device anymore, and you can only hope that they can fix this again.

    Start a service request

    Find an Apple Authorized Service Provider

    Make an Apple Store appointment

    Okay, But what im asking about is should i replace WIFI antena or stuff like that inside my phone ?

    Sorry, but according to Apple, users are not supposed to service the phone, without losing the warranty and Out-of Warranty-Service options.

    One reason why I can't encourage you to try to fix this on your own.

    But there are places where you can ask, for example this one.

    Im gonna try this solution l, but let me tell you something, i dont think that the problem  from cell towers because i tried to play the game with an onther device with same SIM card and acually it works without any issue, and sometimes and somehow my GPS gives me the right location even if im connected to the net using cellular data, today i were at Apple resealer store to ask them about my problem... Okay they did not benefit me with something and they told me that you can not change wireless antena, that means enjoy your device without WIFI service and without Location service which its important service to play Pokemom go in this days, anyways thank you sir i'll try this solution

     

    oh yeah and thank you Apple community... HAHA

    I had the same problem. My Apple Maps and Google Maps work fine when I'm connected to wifi. But on cellular data, none of the navigation apps worked. Apple Tech Support and multiple "Geniuses" were stumped. Then I stumbled on this and it worked!:

     

    SETTINGS>PRIVACY>LOCATION SERVICES>make sure Location Services is toggled ON. Then in the middle of this screen: SHARE MY LOCATION>make sure Share My Location is toggled ON. If you found any of these to be toggled OFF then that was your problem (just like me).

     

    Now my Apple Maps and Google Maps work just fine. Hope it works for you too!
