Q: i-Phone 6 File Name + Exif Issues

The file names of photos taken on my I-phone 6  ("IP-6") are in an extended string (viz. C0948D6E-9F99-4447-94B2-98B542DAD574.JPG instead of a much shorter image name such as IMG_5486.JPG (taken on my I-phone SE).  When I try to send the IP-6 photos via e-mail they often do not download.  Why has Apple adopted this strange numbering system for it's photos' filenames in lieu of a simple, sequential numbering system as is used by all camera makers?  Is there a way to reset the IP-6 photo file naming system instead of this nightmare system they've devised.  And as a photographer: WHY IS SO MUCH EXIF INFO DESTROYED BY APPLE?  Help!
