Q: new version itunes -  can't remove and add podcasts to ipod

I have just loaded the latest version (12.4.2.4) of iTunes and the interface is so different.  I'm trying to remove (un-sync) my old podcasts and add my latest podcasts to my ipod shuffle.  I do this every week.  It won't let me change the podcasts. I can see the old podcasts but whereas before (with the old interface) it showed me the available new podcasts above the loaded ones (and I could check the box to load (sync) it and uncheck the box to un-sync it) this is not available now.  I can see the existing podcasts in 2 places but no way of deleting them and no way of seeing the new ones so I can add them.  There seems no way of getting the old podcasts off and changing them for the new ones. Failing this, I will have to reinstall the old version because everything was fine with the old version. (using Windows 10). Why do they have to completely change everything.  I've been playing around with it for an hour now and I'm giving up. Thank you for any help offered. :-)

    Hi androidfan10,

I understand that you are trying to remove some podcasts, and sync new ones to your iPod Shuffle. I know that it's important to get new content onto your devices, so I'm happy to provide some help to get you in the right direction.

It sounds as though you are looking at what is currently on the iPod, instead of the menu to sync your content. You'll want to look for and click on this icon to ensure that you are in the right place to sync:

From there, the menus should look much more familiar to you. You can see more about how to sync content to your iPod here:

Sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iTunes on your computer using USB - Apple Support

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities, cheers!

I have always done that and everything has always worked fine in the past.  Your new software update changed it so it WOULD NOT WORK.  I stopped using my 2 iPods and started loading podcasts onto my android phone instead so I could still listen to them.  This week (2 weeks later) a new software update has downloaded so I thought I'd try it again today.  Thankfully the interface appears to be working again, (just like it always did in the past) so the update must have fixed whatever the bug was.  -  I will think twice before downloading iTunes updates in future if they are going to cause this trouble!    SO  -  PROBLEM NOW FIXED DUE TO NEW SOFTWARE UPDATE
