Q: transfer music to new iphone 6s

I recently upgraded my phone from an iphone 6 to iphone 6s. All data was successfully transferred. I can see my music in itunes and imusic, but it has not downloaded and won't play. I have tried syncing the account to my computer and I can not even manually transfer music to my new phone. (ibooks were even automatically transferred). It also keeps asking me to put in my apple id but even after I hit OK, it immediately asks me again. (not saying ID is wrong and I have checked several times to make sure I am putting in the  correct one.) I just want to be able to play my music from my new phone!!!

    Congratulations for your new iPhone!

I use my iPhone to listen to music pretty much all the time, so I can definitely see how you would want that fixed quickly.

If I were you, I would start by the basic steps :

    - If you haven't already, restart the iPhone at least once.

    - If you haven't already, update the iPhone (see Update the iOS software on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support).

    - Go in your Settings, in App and iTunes Stores, tap your Apple ID, enter your password if it asks you to, then sign out, then sign back in.

    - On your computer, update iTunes (see Get the latest version of iTunes - Apple Support).

    - Make sure your computer is authorized in iTunes (Authorize your computer in iTunes - Apple Support).

Does the issue happen with all your songs, or just songs from a specific origin (songs you purchased from the iTunes Store, songs you downloaded from Apple Music or songs you imported into iTunes yourself)?

It depends on how you had the music on your previous iPhone. If you simply transferred music from your computer to phone manually, I'd follow the instructions from the first response in order to make sure your computer is authorized and setup to transfer music. If you had music uploaded via iCloud (ITunes Match / Apple Music)  try first exiting out of the music app, then going to Settings & Music. Ensure your account info is correct, the iCloud Music library & Apple Music options are enabled, as well as Apple Match, and then reopening your music. Hope this helps
