Q: Noisy fan on 2011 macbook pro
Hi I know i possibly have taken a sledge hammer to crack a nut, but the fan on my macbook (10.11.3) is very noisy last few months and seems to drain the battery really quickly.
I have upped the RAM to 16gb
put in a new ( ansanor) battery and
changed to HD to a samsung SSD
but my macbook still seems to be working very hard to do anything
I have downloaded SMC which shows temp of 86-94c and RPM of 6,200 roughly
Does anyone have any ideas of why my fan is working so hard, and draining my battery?
TIA
Wayne

Reset the SMC and the NVRAM:

If there is no change, open Activity Monitor to ALL PROCESSES and set CPU to display values from high to low. When the MBP 'gets noisy', post images of Activity Monitor and SMC fan control for review.
Also run the AHT as Grant Bennet-Alder suggests:

Ciao.
