Apple Pencil pairing with iPad Pro 9.7"

HI,

i have a Apple Pencil and have to constantly pair it with my iPad Pro 9.7", is this normal. Surely as long as I have Bluetooth on on my iPad it should connect automatically. I think there is a fault with the pencil, is this true?

help gratefully receive.

That is the proble. Mine worked fine for a week, through 4 charge cycles. Then, no matter the charge status, I now have to plug it in before it will work. Mind you, I am not RE-pairing it each time, I just have to perform a brief plug-in each time I want to use it, after restarting the iPad.

yes, I have tried ’forgetting’ The pencil, and doing a RE-pair. No avail.

Try the help here ..

  1. Restart your iPad Pro, then try to pair again.
  2. Go to Settings > Bluetooth and make sure Bluetooth is turned on.
  3. On the same screen, look under My Devices for your Apple Pencil. If you see it, tap User uploaded file. Then tap Forget this Device.

  4. Plug your Apple Pencil into your iPad Pro and tap the Pair button when it appears after a few seconds.
  5. If you don't see the Pair button, wait for one minute while your Apple Pencil charges. Then unplug your Apple Pencil, plug it back in, and wait until you see the Pair button.
  6. If you still don’t see the Pair button, Contact - Apple Support
