Clip changes contrast automatically

After about a second of playing, every clip that I have in a timeline within a project automatically changes contrast. I haven't made any changes manually. It happens whether or not there's a transition between them. It's very distracting.

Most of the clips were shot on either an iPhone (5s, 6 Plus or 6s Plus) or a GoPro Hero 4 Silver.

I'm using the latest version of iMovie on a late 2013 iMac 27" 3.1Ghz with 32Gb RAM running El Capitan 10.11.4, so it ought to be powerful enough.

Any ideas what's causing it?

Hi, Nicalfc,

I don't know what is going on with the automatic contrast changes in your vid clips. I have not seen that problem reported on this forum. However, it might be just a playback issue. Your movie may well play normally after you share it out.

Nevertheless, this type of glitch can be very annoying for sure. You might try some basic trouble shooting procedures that often are recommended. These would be:

Delete preferences by restarting your computer, and launching iMovie while holding down the option and command keys. Then select the delete preferences option in the resulting dialogue box.

2. Try launching iMovie in a different user account.

3. Try creating a new project and copy/pasting into it the media from your current project, or at least a couple of

clips as a test.

It's also possible that the issue might be related to your media in some way. Check to make sure that your formats, frame rates, etc. are compatible with iMovie.

Perhaps others will weigh in here, as I have nothing more that I can offer.

Best,

Rich
