Q: iPhone 6 Plus no sound or mic when connected to car bluetooth

Hi All,

My iPhone 6 plus has had issues with my Landcruiser bluetooth for the past 6 months. I've since run two IOS updates (currently running on 9.3.3); I've fiddled with settings after searching every suggestion on the Apple forum; I've done a soft reset: I've now done a hard reset and restored to factory settings. Still nothing. The phone connects to the vehicle bluetooth no worries but once a call is placed or incoming everything is muted. There is never volume in the car, but occasionally my voice gets through to the receiver albeit with massive feedback.

All the other iPhones in the family connect to the same bluetooth with no problem whatsoever-iphone 5; 4; and a new 6s. I've already had one iPhone 6 plus replaced by Apple due to a freezing screen issue.....do I cut my losses and the phone? Or does someone have a magical solution that I haven't come across yet?

Thanks in advance!

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 9.3.3, null

    Hello Oztechmum,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities. I know having an issue with using your iPhone and car bluetooth is not what you expect. If I understand correctly, you are unable to use your iPhone with your car bluetooth, even though other iPhones are able to use the same car bluetooth. 2 easy steps would be to make sure the volume on your iPhone is turned all the way up after pairing. Also, check with Landcruiser if there are any firmware updates for your specific model. If those easy steps don’t help, please try the steps in this article to resolve your issue:
