Q: Is this article correct that the late 2013 iMac 27" supports 4K @ 60Hz?

I have a late 2013 iMac 27" and I'm trying to get 4K at 60Hz to work on and external monitor but it will only do 4K at 30Hz. HT206587 says it should work, but I'm starting to think it's incorrect because I think 4K at 60Hz is only supported with thunderbolt 2. Anyone have any idea about this?

What specific monitor do you have and how is it connected?

For my 2003 Mac Pro I had to use a DP 1.2 cable (really cable with mini displayport ends on both ends) and had to change the setting in the monitor (dell 24" 4K) to DP 1.2 in order to get 60Hz @ 4K
