The laptop freezes after sleeping for a while

My laptop the new 12' macbook with OS X El Capitan installed keeps freezing after sleeping for a while these days.

I just leave it on for 10-15 mins and it goes to sleep after that no matter what I do it never wakes up I have to manually turn it off many times and turn it back on. Sometimes it comes with a black screen and red lines. This never happened to me before. Anyone ever experienced that before? Can you let me know how it was fixed?
