Q: All my calendars have disappeared apart from birthdays

As of today (probably) I am not able to see any calendar events on my iPhone (Mac and iCloud are working fine). All I can see in the calendar app on iPhone is a holiday calendar. I cannot add any new event. I already tried to switch off/on the calendar under Settings-iCloud-Calendars but didn't help (only when switched off I can add new events). When switched on again, I see only holidays and cannot do any action.

Refreshing calendars directly in the app also does not do a thing.

iPhone 4, iOS 7.1.2

    Hello Majkl2,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities. I know having an issue with iCloud calendar is not what you expect. If I understand correctly, you are unable to see or sync your iCloud calendar on your iPhone, but iCloud calendars are working as expected at iCloud.com and on your Mac. Since you have already tried some troubleshooting, I suggest these steps to resolve your issue:

    1. Turn off all calendars listed at Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars on your iPhone. Then, restart your iPhone as the shut down and start up process is important to keep the iPhone software running properly:

Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

    2. In case this could be a network related issue, when your iPhone restarts, try using cellular data or a different Wi-Fi network, then turn on iCloud calendars at Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars and test the issue again.

    3. If you're still having issues at this point, follow the steps in this article on your issue:

Get help using iCloud Contacts, Calendars, or Reminders

    Cheers!

    Hi steven_a1,

thank you for looking into it. The thing is that under Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars I cannot switch any calendar as the option is missing there. I cannot even select the default calendar. The only options I see there are: new invitation alerts, time zone, sync, default alert times, start week on.

That means I could not follow steps "Refresh your contacts, calendars, and reminders", "Set iCloud Contacts, Calendars, or Reminders as your default" from the link.

I tried changing the sync frequency, restarting but nothing seems to help. Any more advice before I need to restore the iOS?

Try going to Settings > iCloud and turning off Calendars there, and then restart your iPhone and the other steps suggested earlier.

    Have a great day!

Unfortunately nothing helped. I also tried to restore the iOS and even that didn't solve the issue so I needed to do a full factory reset. Only after that it was ok.
