i've tried different wifi networks but restoring my iPhone 6S from ICloud gets stuck in the very beginning saying "time remaining: estimating ..."
I Can find a lot of mentions on this on the internet but no real solutions. I've lost My previous iphone so I can't use iTunes for backup/restore
can anyone help ?

Solved it..
pretty lame solution, but here it is. When the message 'time remaining: estimating ...' is shown, just be patient. It took my phone something of a hour, but eventually it came through and is now restoring perfectly

Have you tried stopping the restore, and giving it another go? It might taken quite some time to complete the process btw.

Losing your previous phone should have nothing to do with the iTunes backup (as long as you still have your computer). Even if the iTunes backup is not up-to-date (if that is what you are implying), you should be able to use it with a new phone and it is better than nothing.
