Q: Podcast stopped updating in Itunes - 'Can't Parse Feed'

My podcast stopped updating about 2-3 weeks ago and I didn't realize it.  Seems that our feed http://thegroundfloorshow.org/feed/podcast/  gives the following error in Feed Validator and I'm not sure how to fix it.  Any help on this would be appreciated.

This feed does not validate.

In addition, interoperability with the widest range of feed readers could be improved by implementing the following recommendations.

In the second tag, 'rss version', you have the line

    xmlns:itunes="http://www.itunes.com/dtds/podcast-1.0.dtd"

in twice. This is causing Feedvalidator to label the feed as invalid. The feed does not show any episodes when subscribing in iTunes, which evidently cannot read it. This duplicate line may be the reason, so the first thing to do is to remove it and try subscribing in iTunes.

You can ignore the other two errors in FeedValidator.

However something odd is going on because when I tried to view the feed in FireFox (my default RSS reader) it forced a download despite my telling it to open the file, and indeed then tried to download something else. If the amendation suggested above fails to solve the problem you should check with the people running your server and make sure that the feed is not set to force a download.

I'm not sure how this happens or even where to change this?  I'm running PowerPress plugin by Blubrry and I have not idea where this would even be within the plugin.  Everything was okay up until about a week or so ago then I noticed episodes not updating.  According iTunes, our episodes are current (https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/ground-floor-show-radio-show/id268702832?mt= 2) but they weren't showing up within the actual iTunes application, not to mention the most recent episode (194) which was uploaded yesterday, hasn't shown up either.

As for Firfox, i noticed that as well which that wasn't the cast just about a week or so ago.  Firefox would previously just list the episodes and give a link to the mp3 file.  I'll look into this as well I guess.

The Store is showing a cached version of the feed as of the last time it was able to read it, which is why the episodes are still showing there. Obviously Episode 194 won't show up until you solve the problems you run into.

The duplication of that line is odd; possibly if you transferred the feed from Drupal to Wordpress the latter ignored the lines that were in the original and placed a full set into the tag, duplicating the itunes line in the process - that's a wild guess, of course. I don't know how you would go about removing it: you could try their forums - https://en.forums.wordpress.com/

The forced download is something which is set at the server, so it's up to the people running it to deal with that. I looked at the feed in FireFox again: on telling it to open the feed rather than download it it then downloaded a file called 0vi_0njr.rss which contained the feed; so it's been set up in a odd way which might very well cause problems with the Store.

It's likely that either your WordPress theme or a plugin is injecting some bad code into your podcast RSS feed. This page has some suggestions on how you can diagnose the issue:
