Q: Apple tv no signal

I have a Phillips 47PFL7403D/F7 tv and the latest software updates but the tv does not recognize the Apple TV. Using the same HDMI cable it works fine on the Vizio tv. Any suggestions how to get it to work on the Phillips?

iPhone 4, Windows Vista

It's probably set for the wrong scan rate, 50 vs 60 frames/sec. You can use your remote to cycle the modes until you see a picture, see the video section of Get help with audio, video, or power on Apple TV - Apple Support for details. Of course, be sure  the TV is set to the correct HDMI input.

You've posted from an article about 2nd and 3rd generation Apple TV's that haven't had a recent update (last update was June 2014 and February 2016 respectively).

If you have the Apple TV 4.

    1. Check that the HDMI cable is correctly seated at both ends.
    2. Try disconnecting the cable and connecting it again.
    3. Try another HDMI cable.
    4. Press and hold the menu and the volume down button simultaneously on the remote for six seconds, the Apple TV should then begin to cycle through the various resolutions available to it at 20 second intervals.. If you see a picture appear up on your screen, use the remote to scroll down to the OK option and select it.
