Q: How do I delete my own post here?

If I post a reply to a Support Community using my iMac I can edit it later but cannot find a way to just delete it. How do I do that?

iMac with Retina 5K display, OS X El Capitan (10.11.1)

report to a mod, but if it's a problem and you solved it post that you solved it and how to help the community.

    You don't.

If a specific post is bothering you you can report it, however the 'report' option only appears when you have enough of these stupid points.

If you can link to your post I'll report it to see if the moderators will remove it for you, otherwise wait for someone else to show up to help.

You can not delete the post other than to edit the post by removing all information but one character such as a period. You must do that within the 15 minute time limit allowed for editing. If you feel that the information was incorrect and that's the reason you want to delete, just remove the content and explain why the content was deleted. I have done that more times than I care to remember.

If you want to completely remove your post and all evidence that you posted, you can't. Only a host can remove posts.

Not really necessary. I just accidentally posted the same reply twice and then tried to delete one of them. Not possible. Seems odd, but no big deal. Guess that makes you think twice about what you write and then post more carefully.

VERY rarely, a reply will double post on its own!!!

Keep on helping folks and one day soon you will level up to Level 2, for which the reward is "reporting privileges" - not that one can report ones own posts - but you can report the "thread: and notify the Hosts that you have double posted.

The advice to edit (within 15 minutes) and simply say "Ooops!" is fine.

At bottom, this place is not like we are publishing for the "world to see" - like a book, magazine article or a "newsy" webpage.
