Q: Is it possible to have both watch and Baha hearing aid paired simultainiuosly?

i have ordered my new Baha hearing aid and am awaiting arrival, but I want to know if I can have both the Baha 5 and my Apple Watch paired at the same time? Or is there a way to pair my watch with a mini iPad?

    Hi

It is certainly possible to pair both a hearing aid and Apple Watch to an iPhone at the same time - and Cochlear's Baha 5 carries Apple's Made for iPhone certification.

Note that Apple Watch can only be paired with iPhone 5 and later; it cannot be paired or used with any other Apple devices.

However, Cochlear's support resources do not appear to explain how to use the hearing aid in conjunction with Apple Watch, nor is the watch included in their list of compatible Apple devices. You may wish to consult their support team for more information about using your hearing aid with both devices.

ReSound, for example, lists Apple Watch as a compatible device and explains:

"If I answer a call from Apple Watch, do I get the sound in my hearing aids?

"If you get a call on your Apple Watch, scroll down on the digital crown and choose Answer on iPhone to get the sound in your hearing aids. Use the microphone on the iPhone to pick up your own voice."

Cochlear's companion iPhone app (Baha 5 Smart) also does not presently include an Apple Watch app (unlike, for example, Resound Smart and Starkey TruLink Hearing Control). You may wish to ask whether this is a feature that Cochlear plans to add.

In short, check with Cochlear - and perhaps mention some of the Apple Watch-related information and features offered by some of their competitors.
