Q: Safari kernel panics

I have a 2008 MacPro that typically runs very stable - rarely have crashes/restarts

A couple of months ago, I began having kernel panics with Safari - I made no changes to my Mac at that time. I could launch Safari and use it it briefly (minute or so), then my Mac would lockup and restart. I tired deleting some Safari files (like cache/cookies/plist) and also tried re-installing the OS (10.11.5) with no luck - so I switched to Chrome.

For the past couple of months, I've been using Chrome with no further kernel panics - so I gave up on Safari.

With the latest OS update, I saw there was a new version of Safari installed, so I updated to OS 10.11.6, relaunched Safari, and the kernel panic returned. I continue to use Chrome without problems.

I've included the last Panic Report in the hope that someone here can point me in the right direction of solving this problem:

In checking the Apple pages about kernel panics - much of what is dedicated to determining if the cause is hardware or software related:

    ------------------

"In most cases, kernel panics are not caused by an issue with the Mac itself. They are usually caused by software that was installed, or a problem with connected hardware."

    ------------------

I still have a lot of work to do to start troubleshooting my hardware, but it does seem to say that software does cause kernel panics

Did you try running in Safe Mode? It should disable any third-party kexts that may be causing a problem.

-- I do not trust the compatibility of Logmein. imho it is Logmein that is causing this trouble.

I had a lot of issues with Logmein after I ugraded to ElCapitan (besides the issue that they suddenly had only paid versions)- I use Teamviewer since, much faster also.

-- Then also the TrustedData.driver is suspect in my opinion.

-- the mac should run correctly with Safari, I advise against the sloppy Chrome browser.

The Software that causes kernel panics are kernel extensions, not applications.

Some software you install will add kernel extensions to either intercept things normally handled by the kernel or to support hardware.
