Q: Why can't Apple design an operating system that doesn't bother me when I'm trying to screen record?
It's always something that ends up screwing up a screen recording on El Capitan. I am pretty sure I have notifications turned off yet I still get dumb things that pop up such as software updates for stuff like Java. Java is one of the most annoying things on a Mac. Where is the option for me to tell it to stop reminding me to update Java? It screws up screen recordings. I'm pretty sure other applications do this annoying thing. What do I have to do to make sure applications don't bother me when I'm screen recording?
MacBook, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

For Java, you can go to System Preferences->Java, then click on Update and UNcheck "Check for updates automatically".
