Q: I can't write/modify SD Card after update to MacOS 10.11.6

Hello, I would ask why I can not write, delete or modify data on an SD card.

I right-click on the icon of the SD card and then "get info". He says I only have permission to read.

The tab on the card is not in the locked position.

I have a Mac Mini Late 2012 with Mac OS X El Capitan 10.11.6

I tried on a Macbook Air with Mac OS X El Capitan 10.11.5 and could read and write data on the same SD card without problems.

    Updated from what?

Does the card work in another computer?

    Have you tried other cards?

What does Disk Utility list about the card?

    Updated from what OSX version?

Try inserting/removing the card a half dozen or so times.

Also try wigging the card in the slot.

    - If you do not have a backup use disk utility to restore the internal disk to an external disk so you can try to recover data.

Then format the startup disk and do a fresh install of OSX

Thank you for you help and your time.

I've solved the issue with the SD card reader using this solution posted in other thread:

"...there is a small arm in the reader that gets pushed when the switch on the card is set to lock. That's how the system knows when it shouldn't write to the SD card.

I looked at the small gap on the SD reader.

On the right hand side (Closest to the first USB port) there is a small silver arm that you can see. I simply pushed it back in with a paper clip, and now my SD reader recognizes the same card as Read/Write."
