Ive tried a reset plus the rest but I'm away from home on holiday so it looks like an Apple Store or wait till RTB. Is there any way I can achieve a reset with an IPAD?

No there isn't. Besides, a reset is just holding the sleep/wake and home buttons together to reboot. You are discussing a restore. That has to be done with a computer. But you can get assistance from an Apple Store.
