Jul 27, 2016 12:38 AM in response to SamSLPby K Shaffer,Some of the basic things include replacement of the pram/clock battery
since they can do dead; then with power interruption, sometimes the Mac
won't restart. Usual power management unit & NVRAM/PRAM resets are
methods that sometimes also used as a troubleshooting measure.
• Resetting the Power Management chip in your Mac: (see SMU)

A hard-reset can sometimes be used, where the power supply is unplugged
from the logic board, and power removed from grid; then push power button.
(But maybe not. Several PowerMac computers I had, some found this helpful)
You may also have to remove and re-seat the various cards and other items
inside the case, to be sure they are connecting properly. Be careful to not
short anything, due to static charge or residual power in the circuits.
The hour is late here, so I'm going offline; hopefully a reset or new battery, etc
can help get it going again. Also sometimes the power supply has faulty fans,
circuits or capacitors, so they can be troublesome to repair or replace.
Good luck in this matter!
