Jul 26, 2016 8:23 PM in response to silvertechfilmsby Niel,If you’re certain you won’t be opening your library in iPhoto again, yes, but it won’t free up anywhere near as much disk space as it looks like it will; the media files are hardlinked and only count once towards the space used.

If you have not used it for a long time as it looks go ahead - and if you have deleted a lot of photos from Photos then it will save a lot of space

Jul 27, 2016 1:45 AM in response to silvertechfilmsby léonie,I found an iPhoto Library on my Mac, but its not my new Photos library, can I just delete it?
At least keep a backup copy, before you delete it, just in case. You may need it until you are sure, all items from your iPhoto library migrated correctly. Sometimes it is necessary to repeat the migration, if your original library had a corruption. Then it helps to rebuild the iPhoto Library in iPhoto before repeating the migration to Photos.
Have you been using projects in iPhoto that you want to keep?Books, cards, calendars, slideshows, or certain smart albums? These items may have migrated to Photos only incompletely, and if you have to recreate them, it helps to be able to view the originals in iPhoto while you recreate them.
