Macbook pro crashed, HARD

Hi,

My macbook pro has crashed. I attempted disk utility and it failed. I cannot safe boot as when I try it goes to panic mode and I have to do a hard shutdown to stop the restart cycle. My last time machine back up is too far gone to be too much use at the moment. I attempted fsck (single user) boot and about half way through it stops and goes to panic mode in which I also have to hard shut down to break the cycle of restarting. What else can I do? Anyone else have this problem?
