Keyboard Backlight Flicker + Abrupt Shutdown (MacBook 12")

While using my MacBook, I noticed the keyboard backlight began to flicker before my computer abruptly shut down. It has been charging for a day (just in case it was a power issue), but it still won't turn on. While I have already scheduled an appointment at the Genius Bar, I wanted to know if people have any suggestions on what to do or if you think it's an electrical issue? Thank you!
