Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities. I know having an issue with the Remote app and iTunes on your computer is not what you expect. If I understand correctly, you are unable to access your entire iTunes library from the Remote app on your iPad 2. I would start with these steps to narrow down and resolve your issue:
1. First, force close the Remote App on your iPad:

2. Next, restart your iPhone and computer as the shut down and start up process is important to keep the iPhone and iTunes software running properly:
