Q: Activate used Ipad, previous owner changed AppleID and did not turn off "Find my Ipad"

Hi guys, to sum it up quickly. I've bought an IPad which was not cleared entirely, means the former user was still logged in with his ICloud Account and he left the "Find my IPad" thing running.

To make things more complicated he before changed his Apple ID and forgot the password to the old one.

I'm still in good contact with him and he is willing to help me out. How can we fix this?

Give the former user a cup of relaxing tea, so that he can remember that password. That is the only way. Cleaning the iPad for resale is his responsibility btw.

IF they aren't able to resolve this they need to refund you.

DO you happen to know whether they have an entirely new ID or just changed the email address used on their existing ID.

I think (or he thinks) he just changed the email adress on his existing id. There must be a way to resolve this - I mean, that thing is not stolen. And we don't want to give up that fast!

We both are just no "Apple Cracks" - I've tried to browse the Apple website to find a solution but I get confused with all this Apple ID, Icloud stuff.

Can I contact some Apple people on this issue, or can they respond here?? I mean it's nice that they delegate the work to random (unpaid) strangers, but it's actually their duty to help people on these issues...

If they simply changed the address, the current password in conjunction with the old address should be adequate for signing out of the account.
