Q: Firepro V8800 Compatible with Mac Pro 4,1

Hello I am wondering if anyone can tell me if the AMD FirePro V8800 is compatible with a Mac Pro 4,1 running El Capitan. If it is compatible do I need to install any divers or flash the graphics card and if so where do I find these drivers or are they already installed with El Capitan.

iMac, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

Generally speaking, it's compatible. However, because it's a PC graphics card, you won't see anything until the drivers load, so should you have problems with your Mac (hopefully not now or for a while), you wouldn't be able to see anything at all on the screen. The drivers may be included in El Capitan. The card's webpage doesn't specifically say

Mac compatible, just various flavours of Windows and Linux. That doesn't mean that it won't work at all. I'd say try flashing the graphics card if you're sure you know what you're doing ( I don't) or try MacVidCards.com. Haven't heard of anyone writing any Mac drivers for this, though..... oh and certain features won't work, like CrossFire or EyeFinity, but that's not vital......

    Good luck to you anyways
