Q: Activating my Ipad

Hello,I am Dauson from Uganda.

An American friend donated an Ipad last year 2015 but it was still set to 'find my device'. It was working well until recently it got issues prompting me to reinstall the system.It requests for the apple ID and password.I notified the donor and she told me that she had removed it from her account.

what disturbs me is that when I try to activate it,I am required to enter her apple ID and password.

What is wrong and what remedy is there for me to have it activated because that the only problem.
