Q: Will the Apple Pencil allow me to draw on slides that I pull up from google drive?

im a college student and I just bought the iPad Pro 9.7 so that I could use it for slides and digital books. So now I am left with 2 questions before I venture and by the pencil.. Cuz like I said I'm a college student so I'm broke

1. Can I draw on the slides when I open them from Google drive? And I don't mean going into the editing app, just simply opening the file. Cuz the editing app isn't good for taking notes. If someone knows a better way to mark up slides I'm open to listening to suggestions! But I'm saving them from blackboard so that's the only thing. I'm honestly awful with technology so I need help.

2. When using my digital books will I be able to highlight using the pencil, or does that depend on the type of book it is.... They'll most likely be online so I'm guessing I won't be able to unless they are in the kindle app or somethimg

any information given will be helpful, thank you!!!!

    Hello Lwilso46,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

I understand from your post that you would like to know if you can use the Apple Pencil on slides and digital books. I understand how important it is for you to know how it works before you buy it.

You can use Apple Pencil with built-in apps and apps from the App Store. As long as the app you are using for your slides and books supports using the Apple Pencil, then you should be able to use it for what you need it for.

I also wanted to include this article as it has some great information on using the Apple Pencil:
