Terminal is locked not allowing me to enter my password.

When I try to execute the command:

sudo kextunload -b com.globaldelight.driver.BoomDevice : I am asked for my password. When I enter it Terminal then displays the word "Password" followed by a graphic of a key indicating ,I think, that it is locked and it won't execute the command. Whether the command is a valid one is unknown.

I am trying to remove the Boom Device from the list of devices shown in Sound Preferences as it seems to prevent sound from both Output and Input.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
