Q: How can I unlock an email attachment sent through pages

I have a Macbook Air 13.3" iOS X El Capitan 10.11.6   1.4 Ghz/ 4 GB/ 128 GB Flash

1. When I select a document in pages and want to email as attachment, the recipient can't open it because it is locked.

I am not aware that I have locked it and now don't know how to unlock.

2. Also is it possible to open a pages document, minimise it on Dock and use Safari whilst keeping the Pages document on the Dock.  When I try this it just brings the Pages document back up and I can't get into Safari.

Also can you open 2 New documents on Pages at the same time

MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2014), iOS 7.1.2

    1. You can password protect a Pages document, but you cannot lock the document from within Pages, though it can be locked from the Finder's Get Info window. Looks like the following. It can be opened by the correct version of Pages, but attempts to edit the content will be challenged:

If you sent that Pages document to a recipient without a compatible version of Pages to open it, then it is effectively unopenable. If you are document sharing from Pages, it is better to send PDF or Word, as no one will have issues opening those formats, and you avoid guess work.
    2. You save your Pages document, and then click the yellow traffic light on the document title bar to send the open document to the Dock as an icon. The Dock Preferences also provide for the file to disappear into the Pages application icon on the Dock, where you can right-click to see a diamond symbol next to its name on the menu. There is nothing about this process that prevents you from running other applications, including Safari.
    3. You can open multiple new, or existing Pages documents concurrently — even instances of the same document providing it is in different directory locations. Understand that the first thing that you do is to save a new document, as the initial save starts the document autosave feature (every 10 seconds).
