Duplicate Songs on iPod

After syncing my iPod Touch with iTunes on my PC several times, I have ended up with duplicate songs on my iPod. How do I eliminate the duplicate songs without having to manually deleye each song individually?

iPod touch (5th generation), iOS 9.3.3

If you're syncing the device with iTunes then it should only have duplicates if there are duplicates in the library. Clean those up, then sync the device. If you manually manage it then copy off all content into your library, dedupe, then sync the cleaned list.

See Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device and this post on deduping.

actually, there are no duplicates in my iTunes library on the PC. It may be that the first sync I did was interrupted by a power outage. The next time I connected the iPod a new sync was performed start to finish. I don't really know, but I suspect this is what created the duplicates on the iPod.

If I sync again will the problem be corrected On the iPod or will I then end up with dupes on my PC?
