copying from os x to os 9 problems

Wanting to x-fer files from a Mac Mini (OS X 10.7.3) to a Power Mac G3 Tower (OS 9). Using FTP protocol and "netpresenz" software to connect the two macs. The G3 shows up on the Mac Mini but when I try to copy a file from the Mac Mini to the G3, I get the message:

The item "...(file)...." can't be moved because "192.168.1.6" can't be modified.

We can copy files from the G3 to the Mac Mini but not the opposite way.

Any suggestions???

Is your G3 the minitower (510) or the blue and white model (M5183)?

If the latter, then you're in luck - it has USB, albeit the horribly slow USB1. You would be able to transfer files using a memory stick.

If the former, then the only way is EITHER to network your two machines via Ethernet, and go down the long and winding path of setting up file sharing on both machines, OR to write your files to CD and - assuming your minitower has a CD ROM drive fitted - do it that way. A distant third would be to upload the documents to Dropbox (Share, or Public if you got Dropbox more than about 3 years ago) then use the Classilla browser to download them to your G3.

(I see you've resolved this. It's odd, but we cannot see all previous replies when we start a new reply, then BAM! suddenly they show up...)
