Q: Mouse cursor skips when processor is working hard. Never happened before.

Higher processor activity is affecting my mouse cursor. It's really curious to me because it's never been an issue before (I've had my MBP since 2011) and it may have started with I installed Razer's synapse software. I have uninstalled it using Razer's uninstaller, but the problem persists.

Using the Activity Monitor, I don't really see much of a processor hit, but the skipping does occur more at startup or when opening an app.

Any ideas? Thanks

Hi Pentent,
If you are having issues with your cursor becoming jittery during start up and app launching, you can try removing any login items that launch when your Mac starts up. OS X El Capitan: If you think you have incompatible login items
If the mouse cursor still isn't responding correctly, you should also reset the NVRAM and System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac. Please use the links below to perform the steps:

Thanks for your suggestions, but it still happens.

When holding down the buttons for the SMC reset, there is no chime or other indication that it worked, right?

Hello. I still haven't found a solution. I have a 2011 MBP which has had a history of problems with the logic board. Could it possibly be tied to that?
