Q: The impossible problem! (iMessage)

Dear reader,

 

So, I have an on going case with my iPhone 6 plus. I recently upgraded it from iPhone 5. Whilst setting up my iMessage I noticed my mobile number was not registering to my Apple ID giving me an 'Activation unsuccessful' message. My iPhone 5 iMessage worked perfect. I have spent around 3 weeks talking to Senior Advisors and engineers and they still cannot figure out why my number will not activate on my iPhone 6 Plus for iMessage. I am using the same mobile number from my old iPhone 5. On send and receive it only shows my Apple ID email address and not my mobile number. This is where you guys, the community can jump in and try and help me out.

 

My iPhone details:

iphone 6 Plus

IOS: 9.3.3 (Latest IOS)

Carrier: Vodafone UK 24.1

 

My troubleshooting so far with Apple:

  • Reset all network settings on my iPhone 6 Plus
  • Signed out of FaceTime and iMessage and restarted my iPhone
  • Done two software resets via mobile data and iTunes
  • Contacted my mobile operator (Vodafone UK) to confirm I can receive 'Silent SMS' and international SMS
  • Contacted Vodafone UK to see if my APN settings are correct and there are no blocks on my account for Data and SMS
  • Tried to activate iMessage on Wifi and mobile data
  • Had a new sim and mobile number transfer
  • And one more Software reset
  • Deregistered my Mobile number from iMessage then try to register again
  • Set the time zone correctly
  • Checked my mobile number is on (Phone-Settings)
  • Checked time and date is set correctly
