Q: Sending Photos Albums from iPad to Mac

How can I transfer an ALBUM i created on my iPad to my iMac?  I know I can Transfer individual pictures but them I would need to recreate the album again it seems. I have the OS X El Capitan and the latest photos software on both my Mac and iPad.

iPad Air, iOS 9.3.3, OS X El Capitan 10.11.6

Are you using iCloud Photo Library? If so then regular albums sync automatically

If you are using other methods of importing or syncing then you can only transfer the photos - I have not messed with this since I use ICPL but I believe that you can assign a keyword to the photos to greatly simplify the process of recreating the album on your Mac

Thanks for your helpful answer.  I'm not using Could and so I'll try the keyword suggestion.  Thanks!

Photos on iOS has no way to assign keywords in iOS 9, Larry. Even the Favorite flag will not transfer to the Mac, when transferred by USB or My Photo Stream. Keywords (tags) have been supported in iPhoto iOS, but this magnificicent application is incompatible with iOS8 or newer.

To transfer an album we could transfer it as a shared album, but that will reduce the resolution of the photos and strip the location data.

TThank you both for your feedback.  Now that I know albums can't go from iPad to Mac (again, outside of the cloud) I'll stop making them first on the iPad.  Instead, I'll make them only on the Mac and then sync them to the iPad.  Thanks again for the clarification.
