These are the most likely hypotheses I can think of as to what can create this issue :
1. Maybe there is something wrong with your SIM card. Have you tried removing and putting back your SIM card, or tried your SIM card in another phone from the same provider (or tried your phone with another SIM card from the same provider, for that matter)?
2. Maybe it's just a small bug. Have you tried restarting your iPhone at least once? What about force restarting it? Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support Have you made sure your carrier settings were up to date? iOS: Updating your carrier settings - Apple Support Have you updated iOS to the latest version? Update the iOS software on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
3. Maybe there is a bug somewhere in your settings. If you don't mind having to set up all your Wi-Fi networks again, you can go in Settings/General/Reset and select Reset Network Settings.
If these steps don't help, I advise you to try following If you can't connect to a cellular network or cellular data - Apple Support. I know the title describes a different issue than the one you are encountering, but the steps are still relevant.
