Those are the only steps Apple recommends. Try contacting the email provider and ask them if they have any special instructions.

Hi. I've seen it suggested that you select Other, then enter a false email address, say fred@junk.net. Since it cannot automatically determine the settings, it will give you the full editing window and you can enter all the correct settings.
