Using Chrome.

It was a company that offered fake Adobe credentials...telling me I needed new Flash. It looked legit.

I succumbed, and was immediately after besieged by the Yahoo search engine.

This is the address that I see first, though it doesn't show me any info.

DON'T go there! I just want to know if anyone knows it, and what I can do. I use Malwarebytes to remove it, but sometimes it doesn't find it. But Yahoo keeps popping up.

Any ideas? Thank you.

First, were you asked to enter your Mac's administrative user account password? If so, and you did, then you have a much larger problem.

If you did not enter your administrative password then try this:

1) Click the "Chrome" menu

2) Choose "Preferences..."

3) Scroll to the bottom and click "Show Advanced Settings"

4) Scroll to the bottom and click "Reset Settings"

5) Close chrome

6) Reopen Chrome and hopefully it will behave normally

My worry is that I may have. It appeared to be the usual Flash update that Adobe gives me, with the Adobe logo. Now I'm terrified!

And I'll NEVER do it again! Next time I'll just go to Adobe and see if I actually need it. ****, they're sneaky.

I did as you suggested, and did the reset. Time will tell. Does it matter to anyone if I report back here? If so, I'll make sure to come back. If not, won't bother.

Thank you, @FishingAddict!

FYI, we retired and moved to a lake. I wonder what type of fishing you prefer...

I know, I know. Inappropriate! 😉
