Q: Notes not synching with iOS
I have Notes synchronising between my iMac and my MacBook. But nothing is syncing with the iPhone or iPad.
Over the past few months I experienced many problems, including slowness after importing 2,700 notes from Evernote. So much so that I gave up on Notes and returned to Evernote. Last week I decided to have another go, hoping that recent software updates might have improved sync times. I backed up all notes to the On My Mac account (on one computer) and then cleared down the iCloud database. I decided that once I had achieved synchronisation between all devices I would move the On My Mac database to the cloud.
On the iOS devices I unlinked from iCloud and got the "all notes will be deleted from your device" message. But this turned out not to be the case, even after rebooting the device. The notes reappeared, even with iCloud disabled, so they are clearly stored locally. So, while offline I deleted all notes on both the iPhone and iPad, rebooted and then switched on iCloud synchronisation. I then created a couple of test notes on both iPad and iPhone. The apps go through the motions of syncing (spinning grey ball) but nothing is transferred. I've checked iCloud.com and only the test notes I created on my two Macs are appearing there.
I suspect that in some way I need to reset the iOS Notes applications but cannot see how to do this.
