Q: Import my husband's contacts as a separate group?
I would like to import my husband's iPhone contacts into my contacts but keep them in a separate "group". I have a Mac mini running El Capitan 10.11.6 and would sync them to my iPad and iPhone 6S running 9.3.3. He has basically the same system, backing up to iCloud. I tried exporting my contacts to my desktop and the choices are Vcard or "Archive". It looks like it will work as Vcards. Am I looking at this correctly or any suggestions on how to do it differently or better?
Thanks!
Mac mini, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6), Safari 9.1.2

Hi PatKoenig,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities to post your question. If you would like to import contacts to your Mac but make a separate group, the way you are proceeding to do it is just fine. I would however create the new group on the device first, then import the contacts to the new group that you created. You can also use the links below to assist you with your task.
Contacts (El Capitan): Import contacts
Contacts (El Capitan): Create a group in Contacts
You should continue to import exactly how you were. This will have your contacts imported in no time.
Have a great day.
