Bootcamp / Windows 10 utilities issue

I am using Bootcamp on Mac Mini and a MacBook Pro and I have Windows 10 installed on both with just a minor issue. I also have Windows 10 installed on two PCs.

The minor issue on the two Bootcamp installs of Windows 10 is the layout of 'Choose an option' menu that you can get to by holding down the <shift> key while clicking on 'Restart'. The 'Choose an option' menu has 3 choices:

1) Continue (exit and continue to Win10)

2) Troubleshoot

3) Turn of your PC

From this menu, on my two PCs, if I click 'Troubleshoot' I'll get to the Troubleshoot menu which has 2 choices:

1) Reset this PC

2) Advanced Options

If I click on Advanced Options I'll go to the Advanced Options menu that has 6 choices. Those are 1) System Restore, 2) Command Prompt 3) System Image Recovery 4) Startup Settings 5) Startup Repair 6) Go back to previous build

On my Bootcamp installs of Windows 10, if I click 'Troubleshoot', I'll go right to the 'Advanced Options' menu (bypassing any opportunity to choose 1) Reset this PC), and there will only be 1 choice in the 'Advanced Options' menu: Startup settings. The other 5 choices are not available as they are on a non Bootcamp install of Windows 10.

So, 5 choices in the 'Advanced Options' menu are missing as well as the option to choose 'Reset this PC' in the 'Troubleshoot' menu.

Any ideas as to what could be the problem?

Hmmm, interesting. Thanks for the info. Btw, pardon my ignorance (it's been a long time since I've actually played around with Boot Camp) but what is BootCamp Assistant Installer? Is that some sort of bootable disk that you can create using Boot Camp?

Btw, even though 'Reset this PC' is not available via the 'Restart / Choose an option' route, you can access it from the WIndows 10 UI. On a Bootcamp Windows 10 installation is using 'Reset this PC' (to do either a full reset or a refresh) destructive and thus not advised? I would guess that it isn't because it would be a major flaw having it there if it was. Also you mentioned that it is usually implemented using an OEM-hidden partition on PCs, so I'm not sure how that info reconciles with the fact that it is still available on a Boot Camp installation, just via the regular Windows UI in Settings as I mentioned above.

thanks, jR
