Activation lock off, but icloud still locked?

Hi, I recently purchased a used iphone 5. It's running iOS 9.3.2.

- The person who sold it to me showed it working, and i bought it.

- However, when I went to Settings>General> it still had an icloud account linked to it.

- I sent another message to the seller, and he was able to 'remove it' (the imei shows as activation lock:off on the icloud activation check site.)

- However when I go on the phone under settings>general> it still appears to have an icloud account linked to it, despite the activation lock being off?

Are there any solutions for this?

Hi, I'd just like to give an update if anyone's interested. So basically the iphone I bought still had the person's icloud signed in - so even turning off activation lock wouldn't work (as I still couldn't signout from the phone or do a complete reset). Anyway, you have to do a 'DFU' restore (restore the iphone in recovery mode) - this bypasses the need to logout of the account and stuff. The iphone is working fine now. Another way which MIGHT have works is asking the person to erase the iphone and then remove from account. Hope that helps 🙂
