How do I delete "Other" space on my Hard Drive?
MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Server, Version 10.11.04
You need a better tool to show what's really taking up your disk space, see the following article:
http://lifehacker.com/5915508/the-best-disk-space-analyzer-for-os-x
That being said, the slow performance might not be due to not enough disk space. There are a lot of things that can cause slow performance. Run this tool and post the report in a reply. It is nothing more than a tool that collects what is running on your Mac and shows all the details. It will help me spot anything that might be causing the slowdown.
Is there anything I can do without downloading a 3rd party app. I am not comfortable letting others see all my information stored. There has got to be a way for me to manually delete the storage above.

Until you know what it is don't delete it.
It will include contacts, calendars. documents you created, everything that is not in the other categories, (the ones with names)
Etrecheck is used extensively on these forums. It was originally written for that purpose. It does not share personally identifiable information. It does not publish your data. It only collects system information and shows what applications are running and what hardware you have, etc. It provides highly detailed information to identify what might be the problem. See my report:
EtreCheck version: 2.9.13 (267)

I downloaded this and ran the program. When it was finished it did noting but tell me where files were.
I am looking to get into my HD, "Other" shown above in OP and clean it up.. Is there anyone else out there that can help me out?

Chris
What is 'this'
Disk Inventory X is free and will help you figure out what is taking all the space.
Download from here: http://www.derlien.com
The reason I asked you to run the EtreCheck was to determine if something else was slowing you down as having a disk not quite full yet is unlikely to be the reason for the slow down.
