Jul 30, 2016 11:56 AM in response to ihmayidby léonie,Apple stopped the developement of iPhoto and pulled it from the AppStore. Updating iPhoto does not work at all since more than a year. An diPhot is no linger supported. You can no longer buy print products from iPhoto, and for older versons theplaes feature does not work any more, because Apple does no longer support the places servers for olde rversions.
For El Capitan you need to iPhoto 96.1, the only version that is still running.
Updating to this version s not directly possible, but if you reininstall iPhoto, it will install iPhoto 9.6.1. But reinstalling requires, that iPhoto is showing in your Purchases history. You can only reinstall AppSTore version of iPhoto, not versions purchased on installer DVSs.
See Barney's user tip, if you can update at all:
Can't Update iPhoto because it is not available in the App Store
